SEOUL, November 22, 2021 – Osstem Implant Co., Ltd. announced that it successfully held the inaugural Digital Dentistry Contest and the Osstem Meeting 2021 Seoul for two days on November 27 – 28 (KST) at its headquarters in Korea.

While participation gained much steam, online viewing also showed high enthusiasm. The number of online views exceeded 82,000 in accumulation for two days of the event, including over 24,000 views by dentists around the world. Given that dentists in many countries would have faced difficulty in viewing the event in real-time due to time differences, this viewing record is an eye-catching achievement.

The study under the topic of ‘Functional and Esthetic Facial Reconstruction with 3D Printing Implant’ won the grand prize in the oral session of the Digital Dentistry Contest held on the first day of the event. In the poster session, the clinical study under the topic of ‘Accuracy of Guided Implant Surgery Using TRIOS, OneGuide and Mini-screws on Edentulous Patients’ received the grand prize.

For the main event of Osstem Meeting 2021 Seoul held on the second day, a number of prominent figures including Dr. Cheng Zheng, member of the standing committee in the Chinese Stomatological Association’s private management chapter, Prof. Ushakov Andrei Ivanovich at Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (DDS) in Russia as well as leaders in Korea’s dentist community made congratulatory remarks.

Under the main theme, ‘Future of Digital Dentistry’, and sub-theme, ‘Collaboration of Digital and Conventional Surgery’, the Osstem Meeting featured clinical lectures and live surgery, the highlight of the event.

Supervised by two directors of dental clinics in Korea, the surgery team unveiled processes of placing an implant in premaxilla and immediate loading in a patient with edentulous jaw under the topic of ‘Full Arch Implant Rehabilitation with OneGuide System’.

The OneGuide System is an advanced digital guide that supports surgery tailored for individual patients by creating a simulation of sham implant surgery processes based on data from patient CT scans and installing the surgical template in the oral cavity. Through the live surgery conducted on the second day, the safety and efficiency of OneGuide of Osstem Implant in surgery were demonstrated again by completing processes of placing an implant in premaxilla and immediately loading dental prosthesis in an hour.
